Aligot is a rich and creamy French potato dish with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, thanks to the addition of gooey cheese. It’s a comforting and indulgent side dish that pairs perfectly with meats and is sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 200 g Tomme cheese or Gruyère, grated
  • 100 ml heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and return to the pot.
  2. Mash potatoes with butter and garlic. Gradually stir in heavy cream until smooth.
  3. Over low heat, mix in grated cheese, stirring constantly until melted and the mixture is smooth and elastic.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
