Indulge in the aromatic and flavorful Biryani. This dish features spiced rice layered with tender meat or vegetables, creating a fragrant and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 500 g chicken or vegetables, cubed
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh cilantro and mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook basmati rice until 70% done. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, heat ghee. Add onions and ginger-garlic paste, cooking until golden brown.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, chili powder, garam masala, and yogurt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
  4. Stir in chicken or vegetables and cook until done.
  5. Layer the partially cooked rice over the chicken or vegetable mixture. Add water, cover, and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and mint before serving. Enjoy!
