Relish the spicy and hearty Chole Bhature. This dish pairs spicy chickpeas with fluffy fried bread, making for a satisfying and indulgent meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chickpeas, soaked overnight
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp chole masala
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker until tender.
  2. In a large pot, heat vegetable oil. Add onions and ginger-garlic paste, cooking until golden brown.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, chili powder, garam masala, and chole masala, cooking until the oil separates from the masala.
  4. Stir in cooked chickpeas and some of their cooking water. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving. Enjoy!
