Enjoy the crispy and delightful Dosa, a thin pancake made from fermented rice and lentil batter. Paired with a variety of chutneys and sambar, it’s a quintessential South Indian breakfast dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup urad dal (black gram lentils)
  • 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • Salt
  • Vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Soak rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds in water for 4-6 hours. Grind into a smooth batter and let it ferment overnight.
  2. Add salt to the batter and mix well.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladleful of batter, spreading it thinly to form a dosa.
  4. Add a little oil around the edges and cook until the dosa is crispy and golden brown.
  5. Serve with chutney and sambar. Enjoy!
