Delight in the crispy and syrupy goodness of Jalebi. These spiral-shaped treats are fried to perfection and soaked in a fragrant sugar syrup, offering a delightful crunch with every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp saffron threads
  • Ghee or oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, chickpea flour, baking powder, and yogurt to form a smooth batter. Let it ferment for 4-5 hours.
  2. In a pot, make sugar syrup by boiling sugar, water, and saffron threads until it reaches a sticky consistency.
  3. Heat ghee or oil in a deep pan. Pour the batter into a piping bag and pipe spiral shapes into the hot oil.
  4. Fry until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Soak the fried jalebis in the sugar syrup for a few minutes.
  6. Serve warm. Enjoy!
