Enjoy the crisp and delicious taste of homemade microwave chips, a healthier and quicker alternative to traditional fried chips. Thinly sliced potatoes are seasoned and cooked in the microwave until golden and crunchy. Try making them at home for a guilt-free snack that’s ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 200g Potatoes (1 large piece)
  • Sweet Paprika
  • Rosemary
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Chili (optionally)

Instructions

  1. Peel and wash the potato.
  2. Cut it  into thin slices (as thin as possible). You can use a peeler or grater.
  3. Pour very cold water into the bowl.
  4. Then put the potatoes into the water. Mix and put in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  5. Drain the potatoes from the water, divide the potatoes into batches and dry the potatoes thoroughly with a paper towel.
  6. Place the dry slices on the baking paper (placed on a plate) so that none of the slices are touching each other. They must be placed separately, otherwise they will not bake properly.
  7. Sprinkle the slices with spices (quantities at your discretion) on one side.
  8. Place the prepared slices in the microwave and bake for about 3 minutes.
  9. After this time, check if they are ready. Chips should not be too dark (this is a sign that they may have burnt).
  10. The chips should be perfectly crunchy – extend the baking time if necessary. The time depends on the power of the microwave and the type of potatoes. Enjoy!
