Enjoy the soft and chewy texture of Spätzle, traditional German egg noodles that make a delightful side dish or a base for a hearty main course. These homemade noodles are perfect with melted butter, cheese, or a rich sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add eggs, milk, and water. Stir until smooth.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Using a spätzle maker or colander, press the dough into the boiling water.
  3. Cook until the spätzle float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
  4. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add spätzle and cook until lightly browned.
  5. Serve as a side dish or with your favorite sauce. Enjoy!
