- 500 g minced beef or lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper
- Grated cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
- Add minced meat and cook until browned. Stir in carrots, tomato paste, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth and simmer until the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread mashed potatoes on top. Smooth with a spatula.
- Sprinkle with grated cheese if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy. Enjoy!
