Moules Marinières are succulent mussels cooked in a fragrant white wine, garlic, and herb sauce. This classic French dish is perfect for a light yet indulgent meal, ideal for sharing with friends.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 200 ml white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, and cook until softened.
  2. Add mussels to the pot and pour in white wine. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, until mussels have opened.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and parsley, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve with crusty bread for soaking up the delicious broth. Enjoy!
