Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil. Add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Beat in eggs one at a time until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  4. Stir in cheese, salt, and pepper. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Enjoy!
