Bougatsa is a delectable Greek pastry filled with creamy ricotta and wrapped in flaky phyllo dough. It’s sweet, indulgent, and perfect for breakfast or as a dessert.

Ingredients

  • 400 g phyllo dough
  • 250 g ricotta cheese
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Layer phyllo sheets in the baking dish, brushing each with melted butter. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the top.
  4. Cover with additional phyllo sheets, brushing with butter between layers.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
