- 1 cup red lentils (masoor dal)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp ghee
- Salt
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Cook red lentils in water until tender. Set aside.
- In a large pan, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, cooking until they begin to pop.
- Add chopped onions and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Stir in chopped tomatoes and turmeric powder, cooking until the oil separates from the masala.
- Add cooked lentils and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving. Enjoy!
