Ingredients

  • 4 burger buns
  • 2 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Green chutney for serving
  • Tamarind chutney for serving

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat some oil and add mustard seeds. Once they start to pop, add chopped onions and garlic, cooking until softened.
  2. Add mashed potatoes, turmeric powder, chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes. Let the filling cool.
  3. Form the potato mixture into small patties.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the patties until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly and spread green chutney and tamarind chutney on them.
  6. Place a fried patty in each bun, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve. Enjoy!
