Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup basmati rice
  • 1 liter whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • A few saffron threads
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios)
  • Ghee

Instructions

  1. Rinse basmati rice and soak it for 30 minutes.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat ghee and add the soaked rice. Sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Add milk and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the rice is cooked and the mixture thickens.
  4. Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron threads. Cook for another 10 minutes.
  5. Garnish with chopped nuts before serving. Enjoy!
