- 1/2 cup basmati rice
- 1 liter whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- A few saffron threads
- 2 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios)
- Ghee
Instructions
- Rinse basmati rice and soak it for 30 minutes.
- In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat ghee and add the soaked rice. Sauté for a few minutes.
- Add milk and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the rice is cooked and the mixture thickens.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron threads. Cook for another 10 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped nuts before serving. Enjoy!
