 Indulge in the sweet and syrupy delight of Gulab Jamun. These soft, milk-based dumplings are soaked in a fragrant sugar syrup, making them a favorite Indian dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup khoya (milk solids)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • Ghee or oil for frying
  • Rose water (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix khoya, flour, and baking soda to form a smooth dough.
  2. Divide the dough into small balls.
  3. In a deep pan, heat ghee or oil and fry the balls until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  4. In a separate pot, make sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water until it reaches a sticky consistency. Add cardamom powder and rose water.
  5. Soak the fried balls in the sugar syrup for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
