Ingredients

  • 500 g beef steak, cubed
  • 2 large potatoes, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 turnip, diced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix beef, potatoes, onion, turnip, flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Roll out the pastry and cut into four large circles.
  4. Place the filling on one half of each circle, leaving a border around the edge.
  5. Brush the edges with beaten egg, fold over the pastry, and crimp to seal.
  6. Place pasties on a baking sheet, brush with more beaten egg, and bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown.
