Crispy, golden-brown onion rings with a crunchy coating. A perfect snack or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In one bowl, place flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, pour buttermilk.
  4. In a third bowl, place breadcrumbs.
  5. Dip onion rings first in flour, then buttermilk, and finally breadcrumbs.
  6. Fry in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
