Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (2 oz) anchovy fillets, drained and chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Arrange a layer of potato slices on the bottom of the dish. Top with a layer of onions and a few anchovy fillets. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of potatoes.
  3. Pour the heavy cream and milk over the potatoes. Dot the top with butter and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown. Let sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
