- 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 can (2 oz) anchovy fillets, drained and chopped
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Arrange a layer of potato slices on the bottom of the dish. Top with a layer of onions and a few anchovy fillets. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of potatoes.
- Pour the heavy cream and milk over the potatoes. Dot the top with butter and season with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top.
- Bake for 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown. Let sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
