Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp matcha powder
  • 4 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk, heavy cream, and half of the sugar until warm.
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks with the remaining sugar until pale. Slowly add the warm milk mixture, whisking constantly.
  3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in matcha powder until fully dissolved.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator, then churn in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Freeze until firm and serve. (If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can stir with a mixer every half hour until the desired consistency is reached). Enjoy!
