- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp matcha powder
- 4 egg yolks
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat milk, heavy cream, and half of the sugar until warm.
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks with the remaining sugar until pale. Slowly add the warm milk mixture, whisking constantly.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in matcha powder until fully dissolved.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator, then churn in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Freeze until firm and serve. (If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can stir with a mixer every half hour until the desired consistency is reached). Enjoy!
