Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, 1/2 cup ketchup, onion, bell pepper, egg, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Transfer mixture to a loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
  4. Spread 1/4 cup ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, or until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
