 Quiche Lorraine is a beloved French tart filled with a creamy mixture of bacon, onions, and Gruyère cheese. Its rich and savory flavor makes it an irresistible choice for brunch or a light lunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 200 g bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 200 ml milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g grated Gruyère cheese
  • Salt and pepper
  • Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a pan, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, cook the onions until softened.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
  5. Place the pie crust in a quiche or pie dish. Sprinkle the cooked bacon and onions evenly over the crust.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and onions.
  7. Sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy!
