- 1/2 cup tamarind pulp
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp rasam powder
- 1 tbsp oil
- Salt
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Soak tamarind pulp in warm water and extract the juice.
- In a pot, heat oil and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, cooking until they begin to pop.
- Add minced garlic and chopped tomatoes, cooking until tomatoes are soft.
- Stir in turmeric powder, chili powder, black pepper, and rasam powder.
- Add tamarind juice and water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving. Enjoy!
