  • Yield: 4 portions 1x
  • Category: Easy

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup short-grain rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Ground cinnamon, for sprinkling
  • Butter, for serving
  • Optional: raisins or almonds

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the rice and salt, then reduce the heat to low and simmer until the water is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
  2. Add the milk and cinnamon stick to the pot. Simmer on low heat, stirring frequently, until the rice is tender and the mixture is thick and creamy, about 30-40 minutes.
  3. Remove the cinnamon stick and stir in the sugar. Cook for a few more minutes until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Serve the pudding warm, topped with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and a pat of butter. Optionally, add raisins or almonds for extra texture. Enjoy!
