- 1 cup sour rye starter (żur)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 1/2 lb Polish sausage, sliced
- 4 hard-boiled eggs, halved
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh dill for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine water, sour rye starter, garlic, onion, bay leaf, and dried marjoram. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add sliced sausage and cook until heated through, about 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with halved hard-boiled eggs and fresh dill.
