Tarte Tatin is an exquisite upside-down caramelized apple tart with a flaky, buttery crust. The combination of sweet, tender apples and rich caramel creates a delectable dessert that will impress any guest.

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 6 apples, peeled, cored, and halved
  • 150 g sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In an ovenproof skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add sugar and cook until it turns golden brown.
  3. Arrange the apple halves in the skillet, cut side up. Cook for 10 minutes, until the apples start to soften.
  4. Remove from heat and sprinkle with vanilla extract.
  5. Place the pie crust over the apples, tucking in the edges.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes, then carefully invert onto a serving plate.
  8. Serve warm. Enjoy!
